The Business Development Associate will be primarily responsible for helping secure long-term off-take agreements and asset sales for the solar project portfolio. Candidate should have some familiarity with the US electric power markets, and a passion for promoting Ranger Power’s mission to increase the proliferation of community-supported renewable power in the United States.
Competitive research: Identify industry trends, develop actionable solutions, and report findings to developers and senior management.
Legislative and regulatory research: Stay appraised of significant activities that impact Ranger Power’s development portfolio at the local, state and federal level.
New market entry: Develop understanding of regional energy procurement dynamics and identify potential off-take customers.
Data Management: Maintain thorough records of competition, relationship leads, and opportunity pipeline in company databases.
Generate customized sales materials: Coordinate internally with subject matter experts to assemble targeted proposals for bilateral discussions and responses to formal Requests for Proposal.
Support contract negotiations: Work with deal leads to close multi-million-dollar agreements with large utility and corporate customers.
Prepare Quality Work Product: Prepare project documents, reports, presentations, and other work product timely, completely, and accurately.
Reflect Well on Ranger Power: Put Ranger in a positive light by always dealing with stakeholders, including landowners, government officials, contractors, and counter- parties, in a manner that is ethical, professional, and respectful.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
Strong project management skills; organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team and take the initiative to follow up as needed.
Willingness and ability to travel (~20-40%).
3-5 years of prior work experience; experience in the solar industry a plus, but not required.
