Ranger Power is seeking a Transmission and Interconnection Director to support the Vice President of Transmission and the development team with project development activities related to the interconnection process, transmission analysis, and electrical design activities of Ranger Power’s portfolio of development projects. In addition, this position would be responsible for supporting the Vice President and overall development team in interconnection service and ISO/RTO relations related to interconnection, transmission, and market integration of the development portfolio for both solar and storage projects.


  • Interconnection Process Management: Administer the interconnection process in the various regions and markets in which Ranger Power works, specifically interconnection applications, compliance with the respective ISO tariffs.


  • Transmission Owner Management: Manage engagements with transmission owners, including Generator Interconnection Agreements, Engineering and Procurement agreements, study requests, and other aspects of the generator interconnection process post facilities study agreement.


  • Energy Storage:  In collaboration with Ranger Power’s Business Development team, develop energy storage strategies for each of the ISO and non-ISO regions in which Ranger operates, including the identification of queue windows, analysis of the regional energy and capacity market opportunities, and hybrid, co-located, and stand-alone storage alternatives.


  • Market Analysis and Support: Maintain Ranger’s understanding of the changing ISO and non-ISO interconnection processes, including queue and project-specific timelines, queue reforms as they impact existing and early-stage projects, and interconnection processes of non-ISO utilities. Communicate and coordinate with the development team to advance interconnection.


  • Manage Multiple Tasks Simultaneously: Develop and manage several projects (or project components) at various stages, under tight deadlines and according to specific business plans.


  • Prepare Quality Work Product: Prepare project documents, reports, presentations, and other work product timely, completely and accurately.


  • Reflect Well on Ranger Power: Put Ranger in a positive light by always dealing with stakeholders, including landowners, government officials, contractors, and counter- parties, in a manner that is ethical, professional, and respectful.


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the electric transmission industry, including the interconnection process.
  • Familiarity with the operational and system integration aspects of various energy storage technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team and take the initiative to follow up as needed
