DESCRIPTION

Ranger Power is seeking an Interconnection Engineer/Engineering Associate to support the Director of Transmission and the development team with project development activities related to the interconnection process, transmission analysis, and electrical design activities for Ranger Power’s portfolio of development projects. This position would be responsible for the execution and administration of the processes related to generation interconnection, as well as growing their experience and abilities in performing transmission analysis, power flow studies and technical information processing and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interconnection Process Management: Support the Interconnection team in all aspects of the interconnection process in the various regions and markets in which Ranger Power operates, specifically interconnection applications, preliminary engineering and design, study review and analysis, ongoing project assessment throughout the queue process, and compliance with the respective ISO tariffs.
  • Transmission Analysis Administration: Support communications with consultants around transmission analysis and load flow review for prospective and existing development projects to assess the transmission capacity and overall upgrade requirements for the development portfolio.
  • Project Engineering:  Assist in coordination with the Development team to communicate the engineering and design of the projects in the portfolio, as well as Development team back to Interconnection to appropriately respond to their deadlines.
  • Manage Multiple Tasks Simultaneously: Develop and manage several projects (or project components) at various stages, under tight deadlines and according to specific business plans.
  • Prepare Quality Work Product: Prepare project documents, reports, presentations, and other work product in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
  • Reflect Well on Ranger Power: Put Ranger in a positive light by always dealing with stakeholders, including landowners, government officials, contractors, and counter- parties, in a manner that is ethical, professional, and respectful.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in electrical engineering, engineering process management, renewable energy, or energy storage.
  • Interest in growing skills and expertise in transmission and interconnection engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team and take the initiative to follow up as needed.
  • Some domestic travel required
