DESCRIPTION

Ranger Power is looking for a full-time intern for the summer of 2023. The Business Development Intern will be involved in all aspects of solar power marketing, helping to secure long-term off-take agreements for Ranger’s portfolio, providing support to contract negotiation, and gaining exposure to the development process. This position provides individuals with an opportunity to gain exposure to both the sales and project management sides of the business. Candidates should have some familiarity with the US electric power markets, and a passion for promoting Ranger Power’s mission to increase the proliferation of community-supported renewable power.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Competitive Research: Identify industry trends and market dynamics to report findings and develop an origination strategy to Company.

  • Legislative and Regulatory Research: Stay appraised of significant activities that impact Ranger Power’s development portfolio at the local, state and federal level.

  • New Market Entry:  Develop understanding of regional energy procurement dynamics and identify potential off-take customers.

  • Generate Customized Sales Materials: Coordinate internally with subject matter experts to assemble targeted proposals for bilateral discussions and responses to formal requests for proposal.

  • Reflect Well on Ranger Power: Always deal with stakeholders, including landowners, government officials, contractors, and counterparties, in a manner that is ethical, professional, and respectful.

  • Prepare Quality Work Product: Prepare project documents, reports, presentations, and other work product timely, completely, and accurately.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills

  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team and take the initiative to follow up as needed

  • Experience in the solar industry is a plus, but not required

  • Preference for intern to work from Ranger’s office in Chicago
