DESCRIPTION

Ranger Power is seeking an accounting associate to join its team. The ideal candidate will support the VP of Accounting & Finance on day-to-day accounting support for the company. The role offers the opportunity to be part of an inclusive, dynamic, and engaging working environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the VP, Accounting to ensure all accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable and reporting requirements are processed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Analyze and support implementation of best practices in financial accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Work cohesively and collaboratively with internal partners to support the real-estate management and full-cycle development process(es).

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements for the company’s operations and budgets.

  • Manage spreadsheets and internal software systems to track payment obligations.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.

  • Gather and review supporting documentation for annual audit and assist with tax matters.

  • Data entry in Microsoft Excel, Word, and similar software.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in public accounting or in an accounting or reporting role.

  • 2 years of experience in renewable energy industry or relevant real estate experience.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and organized individual with an aptitude for accounting and a facility with
    numbers.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an analytical approach to problem solving, and thorough work ethic are essential.

  • Should have a solid working knowledge of GAAP and strong financial analysis skills.

  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills are required.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to monthly team meetings and events.
