DESCRIPTION

Ranger Power is looking for a part-time legal intern currently in law school or pursuing an area of study related to the position. The legal intern will gain exposure to and be involved in the various functions of an in-house legal department for a renewable energy development company, including corporate governance, project development, compliance management, and litigation.


Candidates should have a passion for renewable energy and promoting Ranger Power’s mission to increase community-supported utility-scale renewable energy projects in the U.S.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Legal Drafting. Assist legal department in drafting, revising, and preparing legal agreements.

  • Legal Compliance. Assist in various federal, state, and local regulatory compliance management, including both company- and project-based compliance.

  • Legal Projects. Support legal department in tackling a wide range of legal issues.

  • Prepare Quality Work Product. Work both as part of a team and independently to support the legal department.

  • Reflect Well on Ranger Power. Always deal with internal team members and external counterparties in a manner that is ethical, professional, and respectful.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required or currently completing

  • Experience in reviewing and drafting legal and/or real estate documents and contracts

  • Experience supporting contract compliance management systems

  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively and respectfully with stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively, multi-task, and tackle time-sensitive matters

  • Passion for the renewable energy industry
